24 Sep September Newsletter 2020
Over the past 14 weeks we have adapted new regimes and working ways – although we aren’t back to what we would call “normal” we are probably as close to it as we will be for the foreseeable future. We are sure that you are all getting used to seeing masks everywhere and those of you who have visited us recently will be used to seeing us in all our additional PPE too!
Matthew, Gianluca, Beth & Lucy have been working flat out with assistance from our fabulous nurses – they’ve been working extra hours by starting early and finishing late. Some days we have to force Gianluca to go home!
In reception and the office, the team have been exceptionally busy with extra jobs (screening calls or emails to every patient who has an appointment takes some doing!) So please bear with us – we are aware that the phone lines have been busy and it’s sometimes difficult to get through to us. Unfortunately the new phone system has been delayed but should be in action by the end of the month (fingers crossed!)
It’s back to routine dental exams and hygiene appointments too (hooray!) and so we have been contacting everyone whose appointments were cancelled during lockdown. However, if you missed an appointment from March to July and haven’t received a text, email or letter asking you to get in touch, please accept our apologies. Call us as soon as possible and we will get you booked in.
This is also true for those of you who have had treatment cancelled in lockdown – we are sure that we have contacted everyone but please do not hesitate to call if you feel that we have missed you and if the line is busy then leave a message so that we can get back to you.
Keeping You Safe
We have invested in additional PPE, but good news – unlike many other dental practices we are not passing on the extra costs to you! We do ask that you wear your own mask whilst in reception areas as per government guidelines.
Additionally we have installed air purification units in each treatment room – these units remove airborne pathogens and pollution. They have the added benefit of removing pollen which is great for us hay fever sufferers too!!!
Friends or family looking for a new dentist? 🤔
We regularly get asked whether we are taking on new patients and are pleased to say that yes we are – to allow us some extra time to catch up with all our rearranged bookings, we are currently booking new patient consultations in mid-October. If an unregistered patient (who is looking to become registered) is in pain, of course we will do our best to see them sooner.
On a final note…
We know that we keep saying this but it’s true – without you fantastic and loyal customers we wouldn’t be in the stable position we are in now. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
And here are some of the fantastic comments you have sent us since last months newsletter:
“ I’m very impressed with how you’ve laid everything out and how you’ve kept me informed before my appointment – I felt very reassured about my safety and well-being. Very impressed!”
“Having a root canal treatment during a pandemic was not an ideal situation for me. Having said that the whole team at Long Sutton Dentistry completely put me at ease. I can only describe the level of professionalism as ridiculously high so much so I am actually looking forward to having my future work on teeth carried out….if you are nervous or if your not sure about your current dentist or just a bit concerned about seeing a dentist during this period do not hesitate to give these guys a call. “
